Entry Level Ground Crew

Job duties for the Entry Level Ground Crew position include brush dragging, operating a chainsaw, chipping brush, and pesticide application.
Responsibilities
- Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety standards.
- Demonstrate high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper application of approved knots, and proper rigging skills.
- Beginning of day duties: load truck with equipment and materials based on daily jobs. Verify equipment is in working order.
- Follow instructions from crew leader on all aspects of job.
- Perform end of day duties: recording hours worked, completing job site reports, unload/load equipment & material, re-fuel trucks and equipment, and clean out truck.
- Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Dependable and punctual.
- Strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 75 pounds to shoulder height.
- Authorized to Work in the U.S.A.
- Self-sufficient/go-getter.
- Willing to be coached and to coach others.
- Being safety conscious: must follow all safety standards and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care a plus.
- Previous experience in farming, military, or national guard a plus.
- Pesticide applicator license a plus.
- Prior experience with a chainsaw, pole pruner, hedge trimmer, bucket/boom truck, skid steer, bobcat, aerial lift, stump grinder, sprayer, pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides a plus.
- CDL-A, or the ability to obtain a CDL within the first three months of hire a plus.
- ISA Certified Arborist a plus.
- Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred but not required.
Tree Climbers

Are you an experienced tree climber who takes pride in doing safe work? Job duties for a tree climber include include climbing trees with the aid of a rope and saddle, climbing line, or bucket truck. Also performs other duties including brush dragging, operating a chainsaw, climbing trees, chipping brush, and operating bucket trucks.

- Demonstrate high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper application of approved knots, proper climbing techniques and procedures, proper pruning and removal skills, and proper rigging skills.
- Beginning of day duties: load truck with equipment and materials based on daily jobs. Verify equipment is in working order.
- Follow instructions from crew leader on all aspects of job.
- Perform end of day duties: recording hours worked, completing job site reports, unload/load equipment & material, re-fuel trucks and equipment, and clean out truck.
- Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned.

- Previous experience as a tree climber, tree trimmer, arborist, or ground crew a plus.
- Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care a plus.
- Previous experience in farming, military, or national guard a plus.

- Prior experience with a chainsaw, pole pruner, hedge trimmer, bucket/boom truck, skid steer, bobcat, aerial life, stump grinder, sprayer, pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides a plus.
- Tree trimming: 1 year (preferred).
- Rope and saddle, 1 year (preferred).
- CDL-A, or the ability to obtain a CDL within the first three months of hire a plus.
- At least 1 year of climbing (DdRT or SRT) and bucket operation experience in the tree care industry.
- ISA Certified Arborist a plus.
- Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred but not required.
